We are currently in the midst of an exciting journey which will make tax simpler, more certain and easier to manage for most Fijians.
We are looking for suitable candidates for the following positions in our Intelligence, Compliance and Investigations Division:
- Chief Auditor – Vacancy 21/2019 Band 9 – $65, 922 Base Salary
This is a leadership position and any aspiring candidate must display his or her ability to coach, manage and a lead a team of auditors who are based in our Suva and in our regional offices. To be considered for this key position you will need to demonstrate significant people, technical, operational and strategic leadership experience. Sound knowledge of domestic tax laws, international tax and Customs issues is relevant. A sound understanding of Government’s policies is highly relevant and an appreciation of the role of FRCS in the economy. A comprehensive understanding of accounting standards, IFRS and FRCS policies and standards including the Performance Management system is highly desirable.
Applicants must have a degree in Accounting/Economics/ Commercial Law/ Applied Finance, International Taxation or in any Finance related field with a minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience and at least 3 years as Principal Auditor or in a middle management position or supervisory role. Higher-level education and membership with Professional bodies will be an added advantage.
- Principal Auditor – Vacancy 22/2019 Band 8 – $51, 592 Base Salary
This is a highly technical position and any aspiring candidate must display his or her ability to manage, conduct and lead complex and integrated audits in our Suva or in one of our regional offices. To be considered for this key position you will need to demonstrate significant technical, operational and strategic leadership insights. Sound knowledge of domestic tax laws, international tax and Customs issues is relevant with a good understanding of the economic environment. A comprehensive understanding of accounting standards, IFRS and FRCS policies and standards.
Applicants must have a degree in Accounting/Economics/ Commercial Law/ Applied Finance, International Taxation or in any Finance related field with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience and at least 3 years in a senior auditor position or equivalent. Higher-level education and membership with Professional bodies will be an added advantage.
- Senior Auditor – Vacancy 23/2019 Band 7 – $43, 411 Base Salary
This is a technical position and any aspiring candidate must demonstrate his or her ability to conduct complex audits in our Suva or in one of our regional offices. To be considered for this key position you will need to demonstrate a higher level of technical, and operational insights. Sound knowledge of domestic tax laws and understanding the basics of international tax and Customs issues is relevant with an appreciation on the roles of taxes in an economy. A comprehensive understanding of accounting standards, IFRS and FRCS policies and standards.
Applicants must have a degree in Accounting/Economics/ Commercial Law/ Applied Finance, International Taxation or in any Finance related field with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience and at least 2 years in an auditor position or equivalent. Higher-level education and membership with Professional bodies will be an added advantage.
To be considered for these key positions you will need to demonstrate significant people, technical, and operational leadership experience. In addition, any aspiring candidate must display an analytical and investigative ability in identifying core accounting and tax issues that would enable one to articulate key elements of the audit. Sound knowledge of international tax and cross border tax issues is relevant and the ability to relate to emerging tax issues around Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), Transfer Pricing, Trade Based Money Laundering, Tax Frauds, Tax Avoidance and Evasion. A comprehensive understanding of accounting standards, IFRS and the interpretation and application of Taxation and Customs legislations is essential.
