The first round of negotiations between the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Fiji Government for the conclusion of an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion (the Agreement) with respect to taxes on Income, will take place in Abu Dhabi from the 24th to the 30th July 2012.
The Secretary General of World Customs Organisation (WCO), Mr. Kunio Mikuriya and the Fiji Ambassador to Belgium, H.E. Ambassador Peceli Vocea, on behalf of the Fiji Revenue & Customs Authority (FCRA), signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a WCO Regional Training Centre in Suva on the final day of the 119/120th Session of the Customs Cooperation Council in Brussels on 30 June 2012.
A Fiji delegation met in Abu Dhabi with the Ministry of Finance officials of the United Arab Emirates Government. The negotiation meeting, which was held from 24-26 July, successfully concluded an agreement between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Government of the Republic of Fiji for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income.
